Narrow Gauge Paint and Coatings LLC is a locally owned painting and coatings company based at P.O. Box 1282, Durango, CO 81302, working across Durango and the surrounding mountain communities. Owner Erin Bledsoe answers the phone, walks the property, writes the estimate, and inspects the finished work — there is no sales layer between you and the person responsible for the result.
Most of what we do is repaint work on lived-in homes and operating businesses, so the job has to fit around your life. We set a start date and hold it, mask and cover before anything gets opened, keep pathways clear, and put rooms back together at the end of each day instead of leaving you camped around drop cloths for a week.
Every quote spells out the scope, the preparation involved, the exact products going on your surfaces, and the expected timeline. That way you can compare bids on what is actually being done rather than guessing why one number is lower than another.

A single interior room is often a one to two day job, a full interior repaint usually runs several days to a week, and exteriors depend on size, condition, and weather. You get a projected start and finish date before work begins.
Late spring through early fall gives the most reliable temperature and moisture conditions for exterior coatings. Interior work, staining, cabinetry, and epoxy floors can be scheduled comfortably year round.
We do. Alongside residential painting we take on commercial interiors, exteriors, and epoxy floor coatings, and we are OSHA certified for work at heights on taller or difficult-access elevations.
Preparation is the bulk of the job: covering and protecting your space, cleaning and sanding surfaces, repairing damage, caulking, and priming where needed. Skipping that step is the main reason paint fails early, so we never do.
